The Roots is an 8-channel, tube/hybrid, full-featured, recording console, hand-built by Tree Audio in Los Angeles, US.

Each channel on the Roots console features all tube EQ and Limiter, as well as Mic Pre, Filter, and Metering. Direct inputs in the rear of the console make signal flow a breeze. True tube analog sound.

Mic in, line in, direct out: Female XLRs on the rear panel. Mic in is used to plug in up to 8 microphones; line in is used for up to 8 line level signals. Male XLRs are used for the 8 balanced direct outputs of each channel.

Phantom power switch (all modules and talkback mic): This switch engages the 48Vdc phantom power for the 8 mic pres for use with phantom powered condenser microphones.

Speaker outputs (male XLR): Use these outputs to attach 2 different sets of speakers.
2 TRK in 1 and 2: These female XLRS are used to accept line level inputs, ie tape, Daws etc. and are selected from the switch on the meter bridge.

Power connector: This is where the outboard power supply is connected.
Buss outputs: These male XLR stereo buss outputs are the final output of the console.

4 - 1/4" TRS jacks: Used for the stereo buss outputs insert send and return.

Send out 1 and 2: These male XLRs output the combined aux sends of the 8 channels

External aux in 1 and 2: These female XLRs are the inputs for external consoles or sidecars.
